"The tide is high, but I'm holdin' on..."

And the hits just keep on coming!

I think that everyone has extended (maybe immediate) family members that they have lived close to for a long time -- or their entire lives -- but they seem to never see them. They talk about them a lot, share good and bad stories about their lives and maybe even a little misinformation. One crowd or the other never seems to make it to family parties or they do make it to the big events but there is just never enough time to sit and talk. Or, at least there's not enough time to get past how everyone looks so good (we hope!) or the basic facts about each other's children.

We had some of these family members come by for a visit just yesterday and it was so great to have a few hours to eat lunch and then sit by the beach and just visit and relax! Of course, we'd just missed a big family party...but that's par for the course with extended family, right? There's got to be a wedding coming up soon. Coach K 2 is getting to be about the right age, right? Speaking of which -- Coach K 2 is going on his third job offer in just one summer. Anyone else recruiting an energy plus college basketball coach?
