"All that she wants is another baby, yeah"

It's been a busy week already - capped off by today's Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) which is a "basic fertility test to determine if there are any blockages in your fallopian tubes. It can also be used to determine if there are any adhesions, fibroids or other complications or abnormalities in your uterus." My favorite part of the day was when the nurse asked me if I'd had any reproductive surgeries before. I almost laughed and said, "Well, I had a myomectomy." She didn't know what I meant (I guess because it's the technical name for fibroid removal surgery) and I had to explain it to her.

Now, this is the second time I've had this procedure done...so I'm used to it by this point. What happens is some type of dye is 'injected' into the uterus (in the basic way most things are injected into the uterus - hopefully, you know what I mean) and the doctor watches the x-ray & we all get to see where the dye goes and where it doesn't. The doctor was very nice - from Dublin with the happy accent to match - and he was describing what was happening until the dye didn't make it into my left fallopian tube. He asked, "Do you have something blocking your left tube?" I laughed and said, "It was crushed by a fibroid." I felt very dramatic in the sterile little room discussing my interior regions. The doctor's response was, "Well, that explains it." Just for a better visual - my HSG mostly looked like the first picture above. But, the faint side was actually a non-existant side. I was only sad because that left ovary is just hanging out there on it's lonesome and nobody ever stops by to visit all of those potential eggs. RKZ's response was "story of your life - all that wasted potential." And even though I'm irritated at RKZ today for other reasons, that was a good one.

More craziness as we plan for a Cinco de Mayo party here on Saturday. Wish we could be in California to celebrate Coach K 2's new big job as head basketball coach at a prestigious Catholic boy's school in Orange County. So happy to hear - so sad not to be there.

But at least I have the dye-job :)
