"I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy.."
There will be pictures soon - I promise.
We spend the 4th at my Aunt and Uncle's house with two of my brothers, many of my California cousins and a crying baby :) H-P just needed to swing for a bit, but we only brought the bouncy chair.
The bigger boys enjoyed the little community parade (complete with a bull!) that passes down the street in front of my A and U's house. There was a lot of candy thrown from the passing vehicles (I hesitate to go all the way to "floats" as a description). After the parade (and the heat!), the some 25 children decided to swim. We have found that Thunder can "swim" by himself if he's wearing a life-jacket. The boy was seriously in the water from about 11 am to 4 pm with a 15 minute hamburger break. We couldn't get him out of the water. Buck also enjoyed the swimming, but he was also happy to spend time with all of his cousins. H-P just cried - but he's only 7 weeks.
No fireworks for us as the boys were all asleep by 8:45 pm. We've switched Thunder to a "big boy" bed, and he proceeded to tell RKZ that he "wanted to go sleep." He basically kicked his father out of his room and went to bed. Awesome. We were worried about him staying in there (jokes on us).
Happy Birthday, America. We're glad to be home for the 4th.
