"Good friends, Sunshine!"

Here's the post where I irritate many of my Canadian readers - I went to Calgary for a very quick (3 days) girls' weekend right before Halloween. The weekend itself was awesome but the illness that befell my family while I was away was truly awful. Still, it was so fun to see some old friends. And I did miss and do regret not being able to see everyone. We're still planning a family trip up, so don't despair! :)

Myself, Barbie, Craw-baby and her #3 little girl.
O my darlin' and one of Buck's oldest friends at 7. See any of the 2005 year to compare. So lovely!
Coincidentally, the other friend from our 5-some (grey dress) who moved to Scotland when I moved to  California also made the trip (but for an entire week).
Back to discussing our lives. . .
We stayed in Canmore, a little town outside of Banff but spent Saturday at the Banff Springs Spa.

I couldn't resist this shot of the Canadian flag or the "mountie wedding" below. O Canada, indeed!

A few awesome shots taken by the sweet valet man. Banff is always beautiful. I miss the scarves, puffy jackets and Uggs for a short trip.

We had a dinner at a cute restaurant that had very nice wine.
Then, we went drinking and watched a band. Barbie texted her husband all night (she's a drunk dialer, for sure)

I have to say that I had forgotten it was Halloween until every 20-something in the building showed up in a costume. Then, they proceeded to pick up on everyone. Very funny and often strange. The Rasta guy below and I were friends because the band played a lot of Sublime and I was the only one old enough to know the songs ;)
In contrast, I spent today in the doctors' office and then X-ray/Radiologist to make sure H-P hadn't broken his toe. It is just bruised (he pulled a stool onto himself) but we had to be sure because the big toe can really affect walking as they grow. 3 hours of waiting to find a bruise.
O, to be the mother of boys :)
