"and they called the thing Rodeo!"
Well, mainly in honor of my brother (Superman-M) & "sista-in-law" (that seems like a funny thing to call supermodel D), I will be much more faithful in my posting so that they can see that SDJ (their precious daughter) is not even just alright - but THRIVING here in Canada :) SDJ arrived yesterday to a country band and a cowboy with a lasso (which the airport must do during Stampede week & it was fun!) We had some lunch and came home and SDJ unpacked. I am happy to report that she told me that she "could live in this house." The highest compliment for a house from a teenager. I guess our California house did not quite cut it - very funny, I thought, as I guess "location. location. location." does not apply to 13-year-olds.
After a little rest, Buck, Sdj and I all headed to the evening show at the Stampede. This is the "chuck wagon races & Grandstand show." We met some friends there who have a 14 and 12 year old daughter (as well as an 11 year old son and 9 year old daughter). The older girls immediately seemed to bond and even SDJ's fatigue was put on hold. Unfortunately, the events were pretty long and by 10:30pm, we were all (especially Buck) ready to go home. On a bit of a side note, Buck did very well almost the entire late evening, though. He is already in love with SDJ & insists on holding only HER hand and only letting SDJ hold him. I have already had one day and a morning of "MAN-tha" this and that. And his cousin isn't even awake yet!!
We have another big day planned. This is actually a pretty fully planned week - so I should have some good pictures for a while at least! More later!
