Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say...
ALOHA!!!
Ok, I know that this is a Christmas song, but we were all singing it the entire time we were in Hawaii (as the only Hawaiian words we know) so I had to use it for the first Hawaiian post.
12 days later and I'm finally posting. It's been taking us a while to get used to being home - considering that Hawaii is 5 hours ahead of Calgary time. Yikes! Thank goodness Buck is a good traveler. He adjusted almost immediately to the the time change as he barely sleeps on airplanes and was up for about 12 hours on the first day of our trip. I'm sure that any subsequent children will not be as easily adjusted.
We arrived in Maui last Saturday night - but our vacation didn't start until Sunday morning. Typically, we were up at 6am (I was thankful as I mentioned the time change and had pictured being up at 2 am with a busy toddler). RKZ, Buck, Pa Joad and I all headed to the beach which was across the street. It was 80/26 the entire trip - so our first day of humid, hot air was wonderful. I immediately missed living at the beach (something coach TK never let us forget).
These first pics are from our first morning at the Condos. The Kamaole Sands -- they were really nice and not crowded as we expected them to be.
More tomorrow as our days here in Calgary are about catching up and recuperation!
