I received an email today:

Gma J sent her first email at 90 years old to all of us here in Calgary having a family reunion. Everything is going so well, the only thing/person we miss is Grandma (well, there are a few other family members it would be wonderful to see as well).

Nickname alert: Arrivals have been sporadic and unpredictable (due to airlines). The Joads and SDJ came first...three days later - on Saturday - Coach K1 and Hoonka arrived with A-man and KK in tow. We had a lovely day together just letting the boys be boys. Sunday, after an amazing Mass (we're all still talk about it), Superman M and Supermodel D and SDJ's friend, Sra, arrived in their adorable Yaris rental car. They had quite the "never rent a car in Calgary" story. I can't say that I didn't warn them /tell them we'd be happy to pick them up.

Monday was a holiday here in Alberta - so we went on an hour long bike ride to the zoo (yes - all of us) - sans the Joads who are off to Quebec City for Dad to "convention" with the other grand po-bahs of the Knights of Columbus. Did I ever mention that my dad is the head of the State of Nevada council (I feel awfully that I'm not sure what the exact title is. Will update tomorrow). The "boys" - aka my husband and brothers - capped the night with dominos and domestic beer. Supermodel D and I watched a movie. We had a nice evening. It's been non-stop but very fun.

Today, we went to an outdoor pool and literally destroyed my young son who has been ready to pass out since 2pm. He's upstairs going to bed right now (about 3 hours earlier than last night).

I love family vacations. More pictures tomorrow!
