For Sale - Day 31

Today, RKZ is 39 years old (baby). I want to post 2 poems that remind me of him. The first is Ogden Nash and RKZ will love it:

The Perfect Husband by Ogden Nash
He tells you when you've got on
too much lipstick
And helps you with your girdle
when your hips stick.

The second is from a University favorite of mine, Anne Bradstreet (c. 1612 - 1672 a Puritan immigrant)

To My Dear And Loving Husband by Anne Bradstreet
If ever two were one, then surely we.
If ever man were lov'd by wife, then thee.
If ever wife was happy in a man,
Compare with me, ye women, if you can.
I prize thy love more than whole Mines of gold
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that Rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee give recompetence.
Thy love is such I can no way repay.
The heavens reward thee manifold, I pray.
Then while we live, in love let's so persever
That when we live no more, we may live ever.
I liked the idea of this poem when I was 20. I finally understand this poem at 40. My husband is an amazing, strong, patient, loving man (he'll be so embarrassed now). The boys adore him and scream with excitement when he comes home. I was watching a TV show the other night and a character was explaining that she had grown bored in her marriage after 7 years. No matter how many years RKZ is here with me - it won't be enough. Thank goodness for forever.

Happy Birthday, my dear and loving husband. Thanks for help with that girdle :)
