"What do you want from me?"
So, it's 11:11 (really) and RKZ and I are just home from a nice school function. A little blotto on wine and beer (love Catholic school :) and ruminizing over Montana and blogging. First, Whitefish, Montana is about 4 1/2 hours away from here by car. I didn't know it is so close, so when I heard, I jumped at the chance to go. I just never thought of going before.
Whitefish is lovely. It looks exactly the way you picture Montana - large mountains with beautiful trees and blue, blue lakes. The air is clear and clean and warm (it was near 80 most of the time). The people were friendly and open. Moms and kids were exactly the same at the playgrounds. Only everyone was calm. Very calm and seemed happy.
I can't explain the entire visit because a bit would be slanderous. I only would like to go with RkZ next time. I want to stay in the area and explore. Rk and I are so mellow about exploring and the boys go along with that. I want to hike around the gorgeous lakes and see where the best campgrounds are. I want to take our trailer and wake up smelling the morning semi-chilly air. It will be a fun, experimenting summer. We will try to forget this sell-our-house deal. We will ride bikes and toast marshmallows. My boys are such a gift. 4 hours away is Target, TJ Maxx and Ross. All American stand-by stores. But also, the American flag and fireworks and ingrained patriotism. It might seem cliche, but it's something to miss if you don't daily feel it.
No news on the house. It's so great to have Rk home again. I don't even care what they want.
