"key's in the conch shell, come on in..."
Random pictures today - crazy last few days - nobody is sleeping and the house is painfully close to being done - but it's not (if that makes sense). The boys and I took a walk yesterday (first one around the neighborhood). It is hot here and it was hard to push all three boys on a stroller (I'll have to take a picture of that for clarity). After the walk, it was time for lunch. I am amazed at how long my body can now go without eating. I made sandwiches for each boy but HP started to cry just as I was about to eat. Yes, that means a postponed lunch for mommy.
And, as I was feeding HP, sweating from the walk (looking lovely, you can imagine) a neighbor walks around our side yard into the back (have I mentioned we only have our backyard patio furniture for meals?). Said neighbor, who is nice but come on, asks me if the boys and I want to come over for a swim after naps. This neighbor is in her early 60's and missing her grandchildren who live far away. She lets me know that she'll be inviting other people from the neighborhood (will she be walking into their backyards?) and that we are only invited for 1 hour (it was a weird conversation). All I could think was that this stranger could probably see my boob since I was feeding the baby. Also, Buck and Thunder would not stop talking over her the entire visit.
After this, I tried to put HP and Thunder down for naps. HP screamed for an hour and Thunder screamed, cried and then took off his shorts and diaper and peed in the middle of his crib. By 3 o'clock, I was happy to walk across the street to Peggy's house.
It was an alright visit. As Grandma's will, Peg had a lot of rules for her backyard and pool and my boys broke every one of them (over and over). I'm not sure we'll be invited back. But, just to let you know what kind of 'freaky Friday' (poor Lindsay Lohan) it was, one of Peggy's friends said to me, "Your second son is a real Steady Eddie, isn't he? But that first one is wild!" Uhhh. Sure.
