"We can live beside the ocean...swim out past the breakers & watch the world die..."

Well...we spent Thursday at Disneyland -- very empty for an August day -- disappointing for SDJ since a 12 year old isn't too satisfied with the baby time schedule. Still, it was a great time for us! The atmosphere - the bands and performers - are really impressive. Although it gets so crowded, nothing compares to Disneyland in summer when all the characters are out and the "extras" are in full force. There were even climbers on the Materhorn just because. It was fun to just sit and watch. I am officially someone's mother.
Friday was our final beach day. Wow! I can't believe that it's over so quickly (except for the grandma breaking her hip part). Last night, we had a "pre-1st birthday bash" for Buck. Of course, it started at 6 and he goes to bed at 6:30, so he wasn't too into the carrot cake and the little piece of wax on fire in front of him. The adults had a great time, though.
Shock of all shocks! It turns out that one of our best friends, Mookie, has not moved to Dallas yet after all! I was so bummed to find out that he'd been here all along. Thankfully, he showed up for the b-day party, so at least we had a little time together. What a sadness that it was at the last minute, though. I miss you, Mook-o :)
Today, we're packing to get back to my Aunt and Uncle's (have to think up some good names for you two) - happy that the trip will come full circle at the "B & B." We will be spending some time with Grandma J this afternoon. Now that the beach house is done -- the posts should be coming more regularly!
I'll be adding pictures from last night when Buck goes down for his morning nap & we're finished cleaning!
